Birthday Presents, Flowers & Cards

I have just thrown away the last of the flowers I had received almost two weeks ago!

the flowers were delivered from my SIL & niece by Tynte Flowers.  I have to say, this is the longest lasting bunch of flowers I have ever had!  The following photo was taken 11 days after delivery !!!

Here is a selection of some of the birthday cards I received.

This black & white one is especially nice ;-)

Here is a special glass from my sister - it was well and truly used later that night ;-)

oops! apologies to feed readers

Oooops!  Apologies to feed readers.

I am closing my Cooking and Photo blogs as it is proving difficult/time consuming to keep separate blogs.

I have just gone through the exercise of importing the previous cooking and photo posts to this blog and forgot that, although they would appear in date order in the blog, my followers would be notifed of each post ;-)

thanks Annmaree for alerting me ;-)

Reasons to celebrate ;-)

I received this lovely unexpected birthday card in the mail from one of my CraftMad friends, Merry. This card is just so pretty in real life - unfortunately, my photo does not do it justice.

I got to meet my Great Nephew, Riley, in the flesh for the first time yesterday ;-)

Great Grandad with Riley

Nanna (my sister) & Riley
Unfortunately, I don't have a pic of me holding him ;-(  he got restless when I held him
(most probably picked up on my nerves)

The quilts - finally finished and in the nursery ;-)

I also received some beautiful flowers from the Nephew and his wife, and will post pics when all the flowers are open.
Hubby is finally on annual leave, so we will have some 'together time' for the next two weeks - don't have any definite plans, but I have a few ideas ;-)

Craft Mad September Card Swap completed

The card swap for September over on CraftMad has been completed.

I have received some beautiful cards from Kaye, but need to wait for batteries to charge for the camera and will post pics of Kaye's cards shortly.

Here are the cards I made for Kaye

Acetate strip stamped and coloured from behind, run through Xyron label maker, glitter sprinkled on back, then panel glued to tissue paper, then layered on hand torn background paper, then placed on purple cardstock.  This technique is from a class I did years ago, and always looks impressive!

Snowglobe designed by me and cut out using CraftROBO.  Tree shape decorated with gold stickers, inside of card sponged with inks and kindy glitz.

A4 acetate sheet cut in half and folded to form card base.  Nestabilities labels used to create panels, Flourishes irises heat embossed and has coloured with watercolour pencils.  Inside card, panel has been duplicated to give you somewhere to write greeting.
